rating ***** 5 stars

Dark Angel is the second album by Lee Hyori, featuring singles "Get Ya!", "Shall We Dance", and "Straight Up". It is notable for the plagiarism controversy regarding her first single, "Get Ya!", which was accused of copying Britney Spears' single "Do Somethin'". Although a followup single was quickly prepared, sales were lower than expected, and promotional activities were stopped.

Her first single from her album "Get Ya" was accused of plagiarizing Britney Spears's "Do Somethin'," as proposed by the composer of the American pop star's hit. After the news started to spread, Lee and her record company announced that promotion of the single would be quickly halted, and that she would have a short break from activities in order to promote her followup single "Shall We Dance?". This was the last single to be promoted by Lee, although "Straight Up" was released as the last single from the album.

NOTE: even though this cd had soo much controversy, its still my favorite hyolee cd, all the songs are good and danceable. Even with all the controversy hyolee is the highest paid female singer in South Korea, ranking an astonishing 2 billion a year. Her new record "if in love like them" was the best selling album of the month ( even though it only had three songs) and her t.v drama of the same name has been very popular, and has even grabbed the attention of Japanese t.v channel FUJI t.v. Hyolee is now invited to Japan to promote her DRAMA and even will et the VIP treatment other international stars get. :)
